GR-MERC (Grand Rapids Medical Education & Research Center)
The Grand Rapids Medical Education & Research Center for Health Professions (Education & Research Center) is a medical, health education and research consortium whose mission <mission.html> is to improve the health of our communities by fostering innovations and excellence in education and research relating as interdisciplinary systems. The founding members of the center are Michigan State University, Spectrum Health, Saint Mary's Health Care and Grand Valley State University.
The Grand Rapids area is home to a progressive, high-quality medical and health professions community with a strong track record of delivering comprehensive care to the region. More than 1000 volunteer clinical faculty participate in the education of our students and residents, offering our trainees a diverse, highly talented and committed group of health professionals from which to learn.
